3) One of my favorite readings was Me Only Better. I liked this reading because it seemed that you either liked it or you hated it. Personally I found it interesting that the focus was based on gender. I think that once you involve gender in a certain topic it seems to always blow up into a big issue. Sometimes I think that gender issues are the issue itself. Our focus is always on female or male and it makes everything seem like a competition of some sort. In this case it had a lot to do with how women felt objectified on avatar sites. My simple solution is to not participate. We all know that there will be someone or something that objectifies the sexes, so don’t get involved if your one to take offense. We can’t guard against the world at all times or expect the world to simply respect us because we think it should. If we feel disrespected, simply walk away.
